Hello and welcome to our Reception class page!

Reception is filled with lots of exciting new learning and fun! 

In Literacy, we will be listening to and looking at a range of stories and texts based around our topic.  We will be learning to recognise and write our own names, and even other children's or family members names too. Using what we learn in our daily ‘Little Wandle’ Phonics lessons we will be learning to recognise and write lots of new sounds, tricky words and start to write short captions and sentences.

In Maths, we will be exploring numbers up to 5 and beyond in detail, and will learn about shapes & measures. We will be investigating, matching, sorting, grouping and comparing different amounts and objects, as well as exploring and making patterns.

We are looking forward to sharing our creative side through lots of different art and crafts activities. We will also be learning songs and dances about our routines, wake-up shake-up songs and songs related to our topic.

Book changing day-Monday Guided reading books returned to school. New guided reading books sent home on a Friday.
